Note: 128, 256 and 512 GB models have 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB and 2 TB models have 16 GB of RAM.

Apart from the slight improvement in CPU and GPU performance, all other specifications such as storage, RAM, Thunderbolt connectivity and 5G remain the same between the new and old iPad Pro models.


M2 iPad Pro screen vs. M1 iPad Pro

Just like the 12.9″ iPad Pro M1, the 12.9″ iPad Pro M2 is the only one to feature the Liquid Retina XDR display with miniLED backlight.

With the iPad Pro rear camera system, you get a 12MP wide lens, 10MP ultra-wide lens, LiDAR scanner, and True Tone flash.

The iPad Pro’s front camera also supports Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, and Animoji/Memoji.

Strangely, while the iPad 10 got a Convenient ultra-wide front camera for landscapethe iPad Pro keeps the front camera on the top bezel (short side).

The size and weight are identical between the iPad Pro M2 and the iPad Pro M1 according to Apple:

Considering all the similarities between the M2 iPad Pro and M1, you’ll probably only want to pick up the newer model if you’re a pro with workflows that will benefit from M2/ProRes chip support or if you’re fine with splashing the cash on the Apple’s latest and greatest.

Why buy M1 iPad Pro?
