Nothing less than a place in the Big Ten Championship game and a chance at the College Football Playoffs is online when n°3 Michigan Wolverines face number 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.
A staple of Rivalry Week, The Game is as historic as it is important. Michigan holds the all-time lead in wins over its rival. However, before winning last year’s game, the Wolverines had lost eight straight to the Buckeyes. In 2021, Michigan ran for nearly 300 yards in the game and running back Hassan Haskins scored five touchdowns.
“We have scars and that has kept us going all offseason,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. said this week. “So we’ve worked very hard to get to this moment here.”
They meet as unbeaten sides for the first time since 2006, and it’s only the fourth time since 1900 that unbeaten sides have met at 11-0 or better. They got here in different ways. Ohio State Quarterback C.J. Stroud is the Heisman Trophy favorite, having thrown for 35 scores this season. After playing just three games last season, Marvin Harrison Jr.. became the Buckeyes’ latest superstar receiver. Michigan, on the other hand, relies on the running back Blake Choir. He’s No. 4 in rushing yards for the season and second in the nation in rushing scores with 18.
Here are the scenes, moments and best plays from Saturday at the Horseshoe:

Another big game for Michigan
After scoring Michigan’s first touchdown, McCarthy found Johnson deep for the touchdown, giving the Wolverines their first lead of the game. Johnson has caught TDs from 69 and 75 yards so far in the game.
Going into today, Michigan has had a touchdown of 50 or more yards this season and has now done it twice in this game. The Wolverines are also the first team with multiple 65-yard touchdowns against Ohio State in Columbus since Oregon State did in the 2018 season opener.

Scary stat for Michigan
Wolverines have struggled to run the ball so far. They were held 1 meter to the ground in the first quarter. According to research by ESPN Stats & Information, Michigan hasn’t beaten a top-five team by running those few yards in a quarter since at least 2004.
Big catches, big score
Stroud connected first with Harrison, who did a one-handed grab. Later in the drive, Stroud hit Emeka Egbuka for the rating.

Corum, Edwards seem ready
Edwards just dropped two assists during warm-ups. Will be interesting if it limits him in the passing game today. https://t.co/uasPAvBiL5
