Live Gameday Updates: Florida State 38, Florida 38

– Florida State enters the game fairly healthy. As is always the case, we will be looking to see if anyone unexpected appears to be out or if someone may have limited availability during pregame. Some of the positions we will be looking at, based off last week’s game, include:

Wide receivers like Mycah Pittman and Johnny Wilson – but Mike Norvell felt confident both were available earlier this week when asked.

We will also be looking to see who starts at right tackle whether it is Darius Washington or Jazston Turnetine.

Those are a couple of examples for FSU.

– Florida on the other hand enters the game beaten up and battered, below is a report via

Florida wide receiver Justin Shorter has returned to UF’s injury report and will miss Friday’s contest against Florida State with an upper-body injury.

Florida wide receiver Daejon Reynolds, who hauled in a career-high eight receptions for 165 yards in UF’s 31-24 loss to Vanderbilt, is listed as Florida’s starting wide receiver on the depth chart in place of Shorter. Jordan Pouncey is listed as the second-string wide receiver behind Reynolds.

– Florida freshman wide receiver Caleb Douglas is listed as the first-team wide receiver ahead of Ja’Markis Weston on Florida’s depth chart.

– Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who exited the first half of Saturday’s contest in Nashville against Vanderbilt, is listed as “questionable” on the depth chart. Pearsall is dealing with an upper-body injury. Despite his injury, Pearsall is listed as the starting wide receiver along with redshirt freshman Kahleil Jackson, a Hawthorne native. Florida coach Billy Napier expressed optimism that Pearsall, the Arizona State transfer, would be available Friday. “We anticipate Ricky being ready to go,” Napier said.

– UF’s starting right tackle is listed as either Michael Tarquin or Austin Barber. Tarquin was seen after the loss against the Commodores with a walking boot on his left foot.

– Florida freshman tight end Arlis Boardingham is listed as the fourth-string tight end, marking Boardingham’s debut on the depth chart. Boardingham has been dealing with an undisclosed upper-body injury throughout the season, an ailment he initially suffered during fall camp.

– Florida tight end Keon Zipperer is listed as “questionable” on the depth chart. Zipperer traveled with the team to Vanderbilt but didn’t record any statistics.

– Florida third-year safety Rashad Torrence II, who exited Saturday’s loss at Vanderbilt, is listed as the starter at safety and isn’t listed on the injury report. On Monday, Trey Dean III, UF’s starting safety opposite Torrence, insisted Florida’s freshman safeties, Miguel Mitchell and Kamari Wilson, would be ready to step up if Torrence were unavailable for Friday’s contest in Tallahasse. “No doubt, (with) the freshman, Kamari Wilson, we’re not going to lose a beat,” Dean said. “He comes in each and every day ready to work, and no doubt in my mind we’ll be ready to play on Friday.

– Florida wide receiver Ja’Quavion Fraziars, who made his first career start three weeks ago against the Aggies, is once again listed as “out” with an upper body injury. Prior to UF’s victory over South Carolina, Napier said Fraziars suffered a “significant shoulder” injury at some point between the 41-24 win over the Aggies and Florida’s Wednesday practice ahead of the team’s victory over the Gamecocks.

– Florida wide receiver Xzavier Henderson is listed as “out” on the depth chart with a lower-body injury.

– UF wide receiver Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman, who was targeted on eight pass attempts in the Gators’ 31-24 loss to Vanderbilt, is listed as “out” with an upper-body injury. Chiaokhiao-Bowman was observed with his right arm in a sling in the aftermath of the contest with the Commodores.

– Florida wide receiver Marcus Burke, who exited UF’s contest with the ‘Dores, is listed as “out” with an upper-body injury.

– Despite the uncertainty surrounding his status for the first half of Friday’s contest, Ventrell Miller is listed as the starting linebacker on UF’s depth chart. “Some of the players that will probably play more of a role in the game, obviously, (Derek) Wingo and Shemar (James). Those two guys will probably play more snaps in the first half than they have been playing, to go along with Burney and obviously Scooby’s a young player that’s got that skillset, as well,” Napier said Wednesday. “Those guys play in every game. They’re just gonna have an opportunity to play a little bit more in this one.”

Jalen Lee or Tyreak Sapp is listed as the second-string defensive end behind Gervon Dexter Sr.. on the depth chart.

– Florida freshman kicker Trey Smack, who has been dealing with a groin injury this season, returns to UF’s depth chart as the second-string place-kicker and the first-string kicker on kickoffs with walk-on Adam Mihalek. For UF’s contest with the ‘Dores, walk-on Travis Freeman was listed as the back-up to Mihalek at both positions.
