A goal in the 44th minute by Michy Batshuayi proved the difference in this one. Canada had plenty of chances but are still looking for their first-ever World Cup goal, and have now fallen to an all-time 0-4-0 in the tournament. A crucial non-appeal of a potential Belgium penalty that would have earned Canada a penalty also drew criticism.
