A high-profile Democrat opposes his own party, expressing support for a border wall as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ferried migrants to crime-ridden Philadelphiawhere several were dropped off at the Amtrak 30th Street station on Wednesday.

“I think we should reform our asylum system,” he said. “But at the same time, we have to make this uncomfortable for everyone: the Republicans who don’t think we should invest wisely in parts of this hemisphere.”

“Think about it: We spend trillions of dollars… as a nation to stabilize ourselves and try to bring peace to regions of the world that need it. Yet in our own backyard, we spend pennies and wonder why we have some of these challenges . .”

Ford concluded that the work visa system also needs to be reviewed, saying that foreign workers are key to the US economy.

Reports that Abbott was sending busloads of immigrants to Philadelphia drew a sharp response from Democratic Mayor Jim Kenney: who famously danced in a video celebration of its sanctuary city status in 2018.
