Construction Crew Reportedly Found ‘Noose’ at Obama’s Presidential Center Site

The construction team building the future Obama Presidential Center alleged this week that workers found a noose at the site.

Lakeside Alliance – a joint venture of construction companies formed specifically to the presidential center – announced on Thursday that it was suspending work on the site due to the incident.

“We have zero tolerance for any form of bias or hate in our workplace. Anti-bias training is included in our onboarding process and reiterated at site-wide meetings,” Lakeside Alliance said. at NBC 5 Chicago. “We are suspending all on-site operations in order to provide another round of these trainings and conversations to all staff and workers.

alliance by the lake is offering a $100,000 reward for the help, according to NBC 5.

The Obama presidential center would include a museum, public library, sports center, children’s playground and test kitchen. It is financed mainly by private donations.

“This shameless act of cowardice and hatred is designed to draw attention and divide us. Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our workforce,” the Obama Foundation wrote in a statement. “We have informed the authorities investigating the incident.”

“We are aware of this matter and it is being investigated,” the Chicago Police Department told Fox News Digital. The ministry made no further comment.

The Chicago Police Department did not call the rope a noose and did not demand that Lakeside Alliance stop construction.

Asked about an image of the rope, a Chicago Police Department spokesperson said the department had “nothing to provide at this point.”

Governor JB Pritzker commented on the incident, writing, “Hate has no place in Illinois. The noose is more than a symbol of racism, it’s a jaw-dropping reminder of violence and terror inflicted on black Americans for centuries.”

Fox News Digital contacted Lakeside Alliance to request images of the rope and more details about its discovery, but received no response.
